Emirates Dummy Ticket

A Emirates dummy ticket is a real seat held on a EK flight, carrying Emirates's own PNR. It is a reservation, not a purchased ticket, and it expires — which is exactly what makes it useful while a visa is pending.

Because nearly every Emirates itinerary routes via Dubai, a reservation shows a connection rather than a direct flight. That is normal and consulates read it without difficulty.

Verifying your EK reservation

Open Emirates's website, find Manage Your Booking, and enter the PNR with the surname exactly as printed on the reservation. Your itinerary should come back with the flight, date and passenger name matching your document. Do this before you submit anything — a reference that returns nothing is worse than no document at all, because it turns a paperwork question into a credibility question.

What you receive

A PDF in the standard itinerary layout showing Emirates, the flight number, route, dates and passenger names as they appear in the passport you are applying with, plus the PNR. It is emailed once the hold exists — no PNR, no email.

Two honest limits

Whether a particular EK fare can be held depends on the route, the class and the date, so the search shows what is actually available rather than promising a specific flight. And a minority of consulates require a confirmed, paid ticket; where that is the requirement, no reservation on any airline satisfies it. Check the checklist for your mission first.
